Death & Legacy
Sir Winston Churchill, the greatest Englishman of his time, died at his London home, Hyde Park Gate, this morning. His death, at the age of 90, came quietly, as he had wished. It was announced by his son-in-law, Mr Christopher Soames, at 8.35am. The cause of death was given as "a stroke, consequent upon a severe recurrence of his old complaint of thrombosis (blood clot) in the leg."
