Steve McQueen, the film actor whose credits included "The Magnificent Seven," "The Great Escape," "Bullitt" and "The Towering Inferno," died yesterday in a hospital in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, across the border from El Paso. He was 50 years old. Mr. McQueen had gone to Mexico for surgery and treatment of a cancerous tumor in his abdomen. He had been in failing health for the last two years.
