Lou Gehrig, the Iron Horse of baseball, who played in 2,130 consecutive games for the New York Yankees and then succumbed to a rare form of infantile paralysis, died yesterday at his home, 9 Meadow Lane, Riverdale, the Bronx. He was 37 years old. The cause of his death was amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a disease that attacks the motor nervous system, leading to atrophy of the muscles and paralysis.
