Death & Legacy
John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, was assassinated on Nov. 22, 1963, in Dallas. His death was a stunning climax to an administration that was itself dramatic, climactic and, from the beginning, star-crossed. He was the youngest man and the first Roman Catholic ever elected to the presidency. His administration lasted 1,037 days. From the start of his term, he was confronted with a series of foreign crises, beginning with the abortive Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba in April 1961.
