John Candy, the outsized comedian who was a mainstay of the Second City troupe in Toronto and who starred in a string of Hollywood comedies like "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" and "Uncle Buck," died on Friday in his sleep in Durango, Mexico, where he was filming a movie. He was 43. The cause was a heart attack, his publicist, Paul Bloch, said.
