Ivan Milat, Australia’s most notorious serial killer, has died in prison aged 74. Milat was diagnosed with terminal oesophageal and stomach cancer in May and transferred from Goulburn supermax prison to Long Bay jail hospital. He was serving seven consecutive life sentences for the murders of seven backpackers whose bodies were found in the Belanglo state forest in the 1990s.
