Mexican singer-songwriter Armando Manzanero died Monday at the age of 85 after being hospitalized with the coronavirus. His death was announced by the country’s president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Manzanero was celebrated for his romantic Latin ballads, which included “Somos Novios,” which was translated into English as “It’s Impossible” and performed by Perry Como in 1970, as well as “Contigo Aprendí” and “Adoro.”
