Ataturk

Mustapha Kemal Ataturk, who led his country from the ruins of the Ottoman empire after the World War and gave Turkey a new orientation toward the West, died at his home in Istanbul at 9:05 o'clock this morning. He had been ill for several months and his condition became critical a week ago. His death, which had been expected for several days, plunged the entire nation into deep mourning.
