Death & Legacy
Alexander Litvinenko, the former Russian spy who blamed a "barbaric" Kremlin plot for his three-week descent into death, died last night in a London hospital. Litvinenko, 43, succumbed to a lethal dose of a radioactive substance, identified as Polonium 210, which had been ingested with food or drink. His death came 22 days after he first fell ill and was admitted to hospital.
